Obituary for Berndt Stark
It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Berndt Stark – a highly valued companion who profoundly shaped our journey over many years.
Berndt walked his path with a steady hand, a clear vision, and an unwavering desire not just to understand things but to truly delve into them. He was not someone who settled for simple answers. Instead, he questioned, explored, pushed boundaries, and constantly expanded what seemed possible. His drive was always to achieve the best – in technology, in relationships, in collaboration. With a keen sense of people and dynamics, he recognized tensions, could channel problems, and build bridges – always guided by a genuine interest in the people behind the ideas.
His passion for sound was infectious, his expertise remarkable. His legendary speaker DIY handbook inspired and influenced sound enthusiasts far beyond Germany’s borders. A personally signed copy, cherished by Dieter Burmester for many years, remains a lasting symbol of deep connection for us.
To us, Berndt was much more than just a project partner. He was an ideas man, a source of inspiration, and a co-creator – an indispensable part of our history.
His stellar reputation and extraordinary expertise brought him to us at Dieter Burmester’s express wish – during a time of new beginnings, when our automotive division was also taking shape. Berndt played a pivotal role in the initial steps of transferring home audio into the car interior – with analytical thinking, foresight, and a clear focus on what mattered most.
And always, there was his dry humor, which brought smiles even during the most demanding project phases. His comments were rarely loud, but always spot-on. He was instrumental in turning a vision into reality.
We are grateful for the years we shared – for the trust, passion, and countless moments when Berndt showed us how deeply sound can move the soul.
Our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and everyone who knew and appreciated him as both a person and a master of sound.
Thank you, Berndt. For everything.
With heartfelt solidarity,
The entire Burmester team
