AMT Tweeter
X for Experience.
The freestanding arrangement of our AMT and the absence of a baffle in the high-frequency range reduces the effective radiating surface of the tweeter. As the sound from the AMT is evenly distributed in all directions, the sound quality remains consistently high, even outside the sweet spot.
Air-Motion-Transformer
Tweeter
The use of an Air-Motion-Transformer (AMT) tweeter is a fundamental element of
Burmester’s distinctive sound precision. In the BX100, the AMT is placed in a specially designed freestanding configuration. This arrangement ensures homogeneous radiation behavior. The music appears to naturally radiate from the speaker, allowing listeners to benefit from an expanded sweet spot and impressive spatiality.
With In-house Developed Membrane
Midrange Driver
Optimized membranes are crucial for sound quality. These are made from a carbon fiber-polypropylene mix, which is extremely lightweight while offering high internal damping. This combination enables the membrane to follow the music signal with the utmost precision and faithfully reproduce complex signals. Particularly noteworthy is the midrange driver, which is equipped with a highly powerful magnet system.
Invisible Side firing
Bass Units
Two 26 cm diameter powerful bass drivers are used in the BX100—a truly majestically effective duo. Practically lossless internal wiring that transports the signal with surgical precision and unmatched purity is another key element in revealing subtle sound details.
Finest Nuances
True Engineering Mastery
The construction of the BX100 enclosure plays a central role in its extraordinary sound precision, a testament to unparalleled craftsmanship. Its vibration-dampening architecture masterfully minimizes unwanted resonances, bringing each note to life with breathtaking clarity. A groundbreaking feature in Burmester’s sound technology is the absence of a traditional baffle in the AMT area. The housing itself is reinforced with additional bracing to prevent vibration, thus ensuring the pure essence of the music is transmitted. The chassis is meticulously connected to the AMT housing with intense pre-tension forces to ensure optimal energy transfer and create a lasting, secure connection.
Design Approach
The design language of the BX100 is inspired by Burmester’s design DNA, yet heralds an unmistakable individuality. With its gentle, almost organic lines, the model is crafted to seamlessly integrate into a variety of living environments. The freestanding, intentionally staged AMT draws attention to the heart of the design, adding aesthetic emphasis. Another highlight is the variety of configuration options. From the customizable waist, which can be designed harmoniously or contrastingly, to the cleverly integrated sound adjustment options, the BX100 offers maximum flexibility – both visually and acoustically.
